Detail Library – New Details February 2024

New Details

This month we are excited to share another set of details that have been requested regularly by our members. This set consists of partial fill cavity wall details. In areas exposed to very severe wind driven rain, partial fill cavities are the more robust solution for both rendered and facing masonry. In this set we explore a 150mm cavity with 100mm phenolic board insulation to the cavity. Other insulation can be used but insulation thickness may need to be increased.

This set consists of:

  • Partial fill 150mm masonry cavity wall with timber triple glazed window detail
  • Partial fill 150mm masonry cavity wall, trench foundation with beam and block floor
  • Partial fill 150mm masonry cavity wall level threshold, with trench foundation, beam and block floor
  • Partial fill 150mm masonry cavity wall front door detail in plan
  • Partial fill 150mm masonry cavity wall to eaves detail, insulation between and under rafters
  • Partial fill 150mm masonry cavity wall to eaves detail with large overhang
  • Partial fill 150mm masonry cavity wall parapet detail to single ply flat roof
  • Partial fill 150mm masonry cavity wall to single ply flat roof with fascia detail
