Sketch Challenge – Week 6 – The Final Week!

Loft Conversions

Master sketchers! You must be close to sketching mastery by now if you have kept up with the sketch a day challenge so far! Well done for sticking with it.

For the final week, we are suggesting you go back over the sketches you have done and focus on the things you found more difficult and have another go at those.

Continue to develop your style, and technique, until you are truly comfortable with your sketching.

Have you explored all of the following?

  • Tone
  • Colour
  • Shape
  • Texture
  • Detail
  • Form
  • Style
  • Media
  • Simplicity
  • Perspective
  • From Photos
  • Tracing
  • Colouring in
  • Sections
  • Elevations
  • 2D
  • 3D

Remember – sketches do not have to be perfect. They are for exploration, observation – they are not a final definite piece. They can be used in so many ways to inform your design, solve problems, find solutions, and understand the world around you from a more visual perspective.

Just to give you a bit more inspiration we have found some more interesting sketches:

This is one of my favourite sketching videos – it has appeared on the site before, but just in case you haven’t seen it I thought I’d share it again:

Well done for completing the 6 week sketch a day challenge! We really hoped you enjoyed it and it has helped you to improve your sketching skills.  Keep on sketching and keep on improving!
